About Us

BROVA… “What does that mean?”, “Why BROVA?”, “Where did that come from?” These are questions that I often get when introducing my company name to people for the first time. For those of you who are still wondering, the name originated from my hometown, the good ‘ole London Town. My roots begin in the Philippines but at the young age of 11, I moved to London, England. I consider London to be the place where I grew up, the place where I slowly started to evolve into who I am today. So what does BROVA really mean? Basically, it’s another way of saying “brother.” In addition with the much loved English accent, it is often pronounced as “Brotha” as in a member of the same family, homie, or friend. Occasionally, it is spelled as “Bruva” and often interchanged with “Brova.”  I bet you just tried to say that with an English accent, didn’t you? Now, you’re smiling to yourself because you totally just did. But why did I choose Brova as a company name? This is a word that I often use to address my male friends. After moving to a new city which I now call home (Edmonton, Alberta), I found myself calling my new friends Brova as well. It was something that linked my old life that I was leaving behind in London to my new life and adventures in Edmonton.
